How can I update my site?
To update your site, you just need to connect to your website editor at https://builder.portmoni.com, using the email and password you used to create your account (or Facebook, if you signed up with Facebook). Then, you can edit your site using the “Update your website” screen, and update the different sections of your site.
The video at http://portmoni.com/add-image-photo-gallery/ shows the step-by-step process to connect to your site and add a picture in your gallery. The same process works for the other sections of your site.
Can I have my own domain?
Yes, sure. The way it works for your own domain is that during your free trial you get a free subdomain at .portmoni.com
Then, as soon as we receive your first payment, we buy your domain for you, and we switch your existing site to your own domain.
Note that you don’t have to wait the end of the trial if you want to get your domain earlier. If you make the payment earlier, we add the remaining days of your trial to your first month.
Can have an online shop on my site?
Yes, the online shop features are available on all sites. To activate it, you just need to create your first product in the website editor. Once you have done that, the cart and the checkout options will then automatically be added to your site.
You can also manage the payment options of your stor from your account in the tab ‘Account’ > ‘Your store payment options’.
Can I create a blog with my site?
Yes! When you update your site using the editor at https://builder.portmoni.com/, you can create news and blog posts that will appear in a specific section of your site.
This allows you to use your website as a blog if that is what you would like to do!
I created my site. What should I do now?
Here is a quick checklist of the nice that are good to have on your website at the beginning. Have you already added all of them?
- Add a background image to the top section of your site
- Include a picture for each of your product and service
- Add a picture of yourself, so that your visitors see who is behind the site
- Add some details about you and your organization in the “About us” section
- Then, you can start promoting your site online and on social media, to get more visitors to your site!
How to promote my site and get more visitors?
We have several tools to help you promote your site. We have already included your website in your country Business Directory at, and we submitted it to Google Searc. You could also submit it to other online directories, such as http://www.yellowpagesofafrica.com/
We also suggest that you share your website on social media to increase your traffic. In your account at https://builder.portmoni.com/builder/share/ you will find shortcuts and suggestions of messages to share on WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter. This will make sharing your website easier!

Ho to change the background image on my site?
To change the background image on your site, you just need to connect to the editor at https://builder.portmoni.com/ and login with the email and password you use to create your account. You will then be able to update the background image, and edit the content of your site.

How to add a picture to my site?
To do that, you just need to connect to the editor at http://builder.portmoni.com/ and login with the email and password you used to create your account. You will then be able to add more pictures, and edit the content of your site.

How to upload a media, audio or video to my site?
To upload a media, audio or video to your site, you just need to connect to the editor at https://builder.portmoni.com/ and login with the email and password you use to create your account. You will then be able to upload media files, and edit the content of your site.

How can I link to my site from my Facebook page?
To do that, you just need to paste your website URL in the website field on your Facebook page.
I paid for my domain, but I cannot find it on Google Search
We have submitted your website to Google Search when you bought it, but it usually takes 1 to 3 days for Google to reference new sites. It will come soon!
Where do I pay
After your free trial, or if you want your own domain before the end of the trial, you can initiate the payment directly from your account in the ‘Payment’ tab, at https://builder.portmoni.com/builder/billing/. We accept all Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards, as well as bank transfers and deposits on our account at FNB.
Which payment methods can I accept on my site
You can activate one or more of the following payment methods on your site:
- Cash on Delivery.
- Bank Transfer, where you can specify your bank details and payment instructions.
- Visa, Mastercard and EFTs (South-Africa only), with PayFast (click here to see the step by step guide on how to configure it in your account).
- Mobile Money (Ghana only), where you can specify your mobile money number and payment instructions.
Where do you live?
Portmoni is an online business operating in East and West Africa, and in particular Ghana, Uganda, Kenya as well as South Africa. Our Founder Benoit is originally from France, but is currently based in South Africa
Can you develop an app for me?
At the moment we focus on providing a great product with our website and online store builder, and unfortunately we do not have the capacity to do app developments.
Do you have an app?
Unfortunately we do not have an app at the moment. We focus on allowing to update the sites directly from your browser, to keep the experience of managing the site as easy as possible.
Can you help me with editing my website to look even more professional?
Unfortunately we do not provide direct editing services on the sites, as we do not have the resources to do it. However, we focus strongly on providing a website editor that is easy and intuitive to use, so that you can achieve yourself the result you seek. We also keep working on the editor so that your site always remains both optimized and at the state-of-art with the best in class sites worldwide!

How to create a shorcut to your site to easily visit it from your phone?
To easily and quickly visit your site and your website editor, you can create a shortcut on your phone that brings you directly to your website.

Can I use HTML and CSS to customize my site?
Unfortunately, at the moment we do not offer the possibility to edit directly the code of the sites to customize them. The reason is that we focus on providing a solution that require no coding skills from our customers, and want to keep it as simple as possible.
I would like to close my site, how can I do that?
We’re sorry to see you go 🙁 If you want to close your site, you just need to click on the “Deactivate” button in the “Account” tab in your site editor at https://builder.portmoni.com/
Is Portmoni available in other countries?
Portmoni is currently available in South Africa. You can find the list of countries available on the countries pricing page.
